Hand sanded and polished free hand from Nelson (New Zealand) blue jade, this sculpture is an example the artist extracting the best attributes possible from the raw stone. The tightly felted jade stone is elevated by the vibrant, electric emerald green with a bottom mix of diopside. Named 'The Mitre' this visually appealing freeform sculpture is set in a rimu mounting and commands the space around it. The twin faces, polished to a glass finish, exhibit distinct but differing characteristics. Ideally suited as a centre piece in a contemporary setting.
